I miss you One Tree Hill

Today I chose to write about one thing, One Tree Hill (see what I did there).

I can not believe that already more than 20 days have passed, since I saw the last Episode. One Tree Hill...that freakin show, it means so much to me.

Here is my journey with One Tree Hill

I am german but I never watched the show in my own language because in german televison the show was cancelled after the first season in 2007. Up to this day, german television has yet to air all Episodes of the show, we are currently in season five (after many network changes and ridiculous air dates....not that I would watch it in german....I googled it).

Thankfully there is France (<3). My family and I live quite close to france and are there at least 3 times a year. One Tree Hill premiered on september 8th 2004 in france, they call it "Les frères Scott". That is how I discovered the show, because I always read french magazines (to be honest, it is less reading and more looking at the pictures, because my french sucks). Of course I could not watch it but I googled it, read about it, watched a few videos on You Tube but I was not hoocked. Not so suprising since I still had not seen a whole Episode.

But I continued reading about the show and the main reason was the one and only Bethany Joy Lenz. I adored that woman from the first moment. I saw fanvideos of her character Haley and my favorite TV character of all time, Dean Winchester. Thats when it all truely began. The crossover pairing, Daley, had  me from the start. Love at the first sight. I found the DHB (http://z10.invisionfree.com/Dean_and_Haley/index.php?act=idx) and there I found amazing people who today, I cosinder my friends. Finally, I bought my first One Tree Hill DVD and watched all the Episodes. Ever since then I was a fan, there was no turning back and I did not want to.

I think the best part for me was always the music. I am a music junkie and I mean junkie, junkie. How many great musicians would be unknown to me if it was not for One Tree Hill...

The next most important part was, as I mentioned Joy and her character Haley. The two of them became an inspiration and I know that sounds sappy but they are a few steps on the way to the person I am today. When I had rough times, and god knows I had them, I thought of Haley and how she handled her life, no matter how hard. The moment in the long history of One Tree Hill that gets me the most is when Haley talks to her mom after Lydia just told her daughters that she has cancer. She tells Haley to be strong for those who can not be...it was as if she was talking to me.

It is moments like that who gave One Tree Hill its magic, cause no one said the show was realistic or even logic at times, but despite that you could find yourself in One Tree Hill. Plus no show has so many powerfull voiceovers like One Tree Hill does.

I will never forget One Tree Hill

Crafty Tuesday

So is is Tuesday, that means I am gonna share a DIY project with you.

So....today....it is......

a chalk plastic sheet /foil / film /screen whatever. Actually I have no idea what the correct english word is, so feel free to leave a comment and tell me.
But whatever it is called the stuff is actually pretty cool.

I have it on my closet as well as on my wall. You can simply stick it on the surface and easily remove it, depending on your wall or the surface you put it on it wont leave any marks.

I think it is much easier than chalk paint (which I love as well) because you can get it rid of it within a blink, while with chalk paint you need an awfull lot of paint and time to get it on your wall and ,even worse, off your wall when you are tired of it.
What is looks like on my wall

A close up of my drawing (I know, I am so talented...)

Anna and her puppy? Where is the puppy?

I guess it is time to introduce my puppy...

Paulo at almost 4 month old on december 6th 2012

His name is Paulo and he is now 8 month old. The picture above was taken when we got him in december ( december 6th to be exact) he was an early christmas gift to my sisters and me because he need a new home quickly since his mom was killed in a car accident and he was left all alone.
Paulo on Xmas, having fun with the wrapping paper. We also have a video of that moment.

I was already on my Xmas holiday from college when we got him so I mostly took care of him. We bonded quickly and I never thought how much I could love a dog. Actually I sometimes annoy my mom because I read so many books about dogs since we got him that I am a "Little Miss know it all" when it comes to him.
This is Paulo on his first day home. He is playing with his first toy, a bee who since is shredded.

Paulo is the best. He makes my day everday when he wakes me at 6 a.m by licking my hand telling me it is time for his pee. Afterwards he will run straight to the kitchen, knowing it is time for breakfast. He follows me whereever I go. When I am in the basement doing laundry, in the kitchen cooking or in the bathroom getting ready for school. He is my little baby <3 and thats why this blog is called Anna and her puppy cause when ever I am blogging he sleeps on his doggie blanket next to me.
And this is Paulo now. He is 8 month old and so handsome ;)

The Titanic & I

Yesterday on April 15th 1912 the Titanic sank. Yesterday, exactly 100 years later, my sisters, my dad and I went to see Titanic in 3D.

Ever since I can remember I have been fascinated by the ship, its tragic story and stories.

I can not remember when I first heard about the Titanic, maybe my dad told me about it (he is my very own hobby-historian) or maybe I saw a book about it on the weekly trips to the libary with my mom. Fact is when I was in third grade, I knew more about the Titanic than most adults do.

The first vivid memory, of my love for the ship is from over 15 years ago. When I was in third grade, our teacher had brought historybooks for kids to school and we were to choose a history project. Most kids chose the medieval times but I was thrilled to discover a book about the Titanic among the ones to choose from. I remember talking my friend into doing the project with me and told her all the facts I knew. That was years before James Cameron brought the Titanic back to life.

(I also remember that the book included this illustration. The illustration was also used as the cover for this teen novel that I read at least 4 times from the age 12 - 16. It follows 7 young adults and kids from different backgrounds onto the Titanic. Most characters are based on real passengers of the Titanic but only partly.)

I was eleven years old when the movie came out but I did not saw in the theater. The reasons are unknown to me now. I probably could not convince an adult to go with me (my mom still refuses to watch Titanic (too tragic) and my dad needed some time to be convinced that it is not just a romantic movie). I saw it later on VHS (oh dear, now I feel old) at a friends house any many times in TV since. But on sunday I got to see it on the big screen, in 3D, how magical...

James Cameron gave us Titanic fans an amazing gift, the Titanic back to life wrapt in a great movie. Not to mention I loved (love) Leonardo DiCaprio and since seeing her in Titanic I adore Kate Winstlet too. And is not it lovely that those 2 formed such a great friendship since working on the movie together? Watching Titanic, I can not help see Kate and Leo on set bonding for a lifetime in the cold water....but back to the topic...

I do not know why the Titanic is so important to me. Maybe it is all the stories, the tragic, the love, the hope, people risking their life for others or dieing for them, people surviving under the worst circumstances while so many were lost in the sea. They call her the ship of dream but lets face it, most of those dreams were drowned in the icy sea.

I will never not love the Titanic and all its stories. I will never not get goosebumps when I see the movie. I will never not watch all the other movies about the Titanic or any documentary or read about it. My future kids will get a crazy Titanic mom, but I guess they could do worse.

And last but not least one of my favorite quotes of the movie: "I figure life's a gift and I don't intend on wasting it. You don't know what hand you're gonna get dealt next. You learn to take life as it comes at you... to make each day count."- Jack

so true...so true...
